Peterhead has four cemeteries with the oldest dating from the 16th century. New lairs are now only available in the Grange although Balmoor and Constitution Street are still active for burials into existing lairs. Burials at St Peter's are now very rare. Although the nearest crematorium is in Aberdeen, cremations are becoming more common than in previous generations.
